This indicator represents the body of the wine – “1” being the lightest like a Beaujolais and “5” being the most full-bodied like a wine from the Minervois.

Marsannay is the northern-most wine village on the Côte d’Or and whilst better known for its rosé wines, it produces some good red and white wines that can be more favourably priced than its famous neighbours. Les Échezeaux is arguably the best plot in this appellation, but owing to a conflict of name with the world famous appellation, Faiveley has adjusted the name of its plot to remain recognisable!  This is an outstanding wine now, full of Pinot fruit and if you wish, it could also be kept until 2028.
